October finds us settling into our school routines. The children come each day ready and eager to learn. They have learned their friends’ names and important truths found in God’s Word. What joy to be able to tell these children about the everlasting love and grace that God has for each of them.
The children will learn about Bible heroes Noah, Joshua and Elijah. They’ll find out how God empowered ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for Him.
The kinders are eager to learn how to read and write. They faithfully practice and their skills improve daily. Math, Bible Time and of course, recess fill out our days. During Oct they will be learning about body systems and how wonderfully God has created us.
The children are busy learning math, science and reading in a hands-on way. October finds them exploring the world using their 5 senses and learning about how their body works.
Multi Age Class..
Spending time outdoors, observing nature and looking for patterns will be part of learning in the Multi-Age class. They will learn about using their 5 senses to explore the world around them. Learning to identify and write first names is also on the calendar.
During October the 4’s learning units include: dental health, fighting germs with good hygiene and using our 5 senses to learn about our world, and of course some pumpkin fun. We will celebrate one of our favorite book characters, Curious George. The children will try their hand at a step-by-step drawing of George, enjoy some George books and eat bananas!
Extended Day Kids…
Hooray, we love to read! The children are learning to read, write and listen with
MacMillan/McGraw Hill Letterbooks.
The 3’s will use their senses examining fall leaves and sorting by shape, size and color. The little ones will learn how healthy food and good hygiene are important to help us grow. Pumpkins are also in the plans. Practicing with school tools, especially scissors, offers challenge and a sense of accomplishment.
The children are blessed each week at Chapel. They hear lessons from the Bible and learn of God’s great love for all mankind. Praising Jesus with singing and dancing and praying round out the Chapel experience. We welcome Pastor Patrick Rooney and are excited to learn from him.
There are lots of fun events in October: Pancake Breakfasts, and Class Costume Parties. Please check your child’s calendar for specific dates.
May the Lord Bless Your Family With His Joy and Peace,
