The celebration of Jesus’ birth is so important in our lives that it involves much preparation with lots and lots of details. Sometimes ALL of these preparations cause us to skip the simple and then everything gets complicated. We can forget the whole reason, celebrating the love of God in Jesus, as we get busier and busier. Being around young children each day helps keep the busy days before Christmas in perspective. The children simply wait for good things to happen. They count on it.
This reminds me of our relationship with our loving God. We simply wait for good to happen, and it has! God sent His Son, Jesus, to this world to be our Savior from sin. God’s love is present in and around all of our Christmas preparations and celebrations.
Some thoughts on simply waiting for Christmas from the kindergarten children:
Annie – Waiting for my daddy to come home from Spain
Bennett – Waiting to decorate the Christmas tree
Cayden – Waiting for presents
Claire – Waiting to dance in the Nutcracker
Collin – Waiting for Christmas cookies
Elaina – Waiting for the new Frozen movie
Ethan – Waiting for candy canes
Grant – Waiting for our program
Joey – Waiting for a Christmas party
Joseph– Waiting to go on a trip
Kaillat – Waiting for making cookies
Ketch – Waiting to read a Christmas story
Makenna – Waiting for Christmas cards
Matilda – Waiting for the fun
Piper – Waiting for Baby Jesus
Lord Jesus, bless us as we simply wait, to celebrate Your birthday!
May Your Family be Blessed as We Celebrate Jesus this Christmas,
Our Redeemer School Staff
Our Redeemer School families have another opportunity to express care to those
in need. We will be decorating our empty Christmas tree in the hall downstairs with mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and blankets. On December 17 we will take what we have collected to the Community Transitional School in Portland which serves homeless and disadvantaged children. This generous giving will provide some warmth to those in need.
