What I do: I play and talk with kids. I'm always thinking about how to make learning fun and engaging. I listen to moms and dads. I love to tell everyone that Jesus loves and cares for them. I am an early childhood teacher, and I get to be school director, too.
What I love about Our Redeemer: Our Redeemer is Family. Babies, little ones, teens, adults, elderly, all come together to share and care, to worship, play and grow together.

Hobbies: reading, sewing, herb gardening, cooking and eating.

Kathleen Schuyler, Multi-Age Teacher
What I Do: This school year I get to teach a 3's preschool class and prepare a happy learning environment for these little people. I will also serve as a 4's preschool aide assisting the classroom teachers in the daily learning activities and helping to keep things organized and full of joy.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: What I love most about Our Redeemed is the staff. From my first conversation with a teacher about enrolling our kids, to the day they graduated Kindergarten, the staff has been loving, caring, empathetic and living examples of God's word. I am honored to be a member or the Our Redeemer family!

Hobbies: I love to sew!
Fun Fact: I have traveled to Africa on safari. I love archaeology and have been involved with a number of digs. I don't like clowns.

What I do: I enjoy playing, reading stories, giving hugs and high fives, providing enriching experiences and watching kids grow and blossom. I love to tell young children how much Jesus loves them.
What I love about Our Redeemer: I love the people of Our Redeemer. It's a warm, welcoming and friendly place to worship and share with others.
Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Hobbies: baking, organizing (just about anything), and home decorating.
Fun Fact: I enjoy a good game of Bingo and love glitter!
Sarah Amberg, Pre-K Teacher
What I do: I love to ask questions and try and encourage little minds to find their own way to solve a problem. I look for opportunities to teach kids in real, everyday situations that will be meaningful and important to them and LOVE to celebrate with them when they are successful and encourage and cheer for them when they struggle. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to play and learn and laugh with your children!
What I love about Our Redeemer: Our Redeemer is so much more than a church, it is community and family. We love calling this place our home and have been met so warmly and genuinely.
Favorite Bible Verse(s): Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us. And let us run with perseverance the race set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
I love this verse because it reminds me that not only do we have a savior who we can count on to be with us when the road we are on gets tough, but we have others that God places in our lives who will also cheer us on as we follow His will, keeping Him as our focus. So awesome!
Hobbies: Music, sewing, photography and being with my own kiddos!
Fun Fact: If it were possible, I would live in a musical. Like a real live theatre production where you sing your troubles away and the entire town joins in in a perfectly choreographed and harmonized song. (By the way, it's ok to laugh at how absurd that is.)

What I do: My job as a teacher is to walk alongside sweet children as they grow physically, mentally, and spiritually at Our Redeemer. It is a blessing to prepare activities, lessons and games that spark their imagination and creativity. I get to foster a community mindset, where we can all come together and learn from each other. I love how each child is unique and sees things differently. This allows us to experiment with a variety of different teaching methods. We can role play, use active movement, write, read, see visuals, and create art so everyone can understand and grow. It is truly a gift to see each child reach a new milestone in their development.
What I love about Our Redeemer: Our Redeemer is a family. I love the connection between the teachers, the parents, the teacher’s aides, and the children. We are all committed to teaching and raising amazing humans who care about each other, and about our great God.
Favorite Bible Verse: I could go on for days with my favorite bible verses. God has such a wonderful way of showing you the right words when you need them. Here are a few that I am encouraged by: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has known what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.” 1 John 3:16. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Hobbies: My family is my favorite hobby. We are in a sweet season of life that enables us to do more together than we ever have before. We love hiking, biking, cooking, sports, history, reading, and traveling together. I also enjoy spending time volunteering at my girl’s elementary school, teaching Sunday School at church, and leading my daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
Fun Fact: I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old. I played a little in college and I still play on a co-ed team today! I also help coach my daughter’s team.

What I do: As a 4’s teacher I am excited and honored to prepare children for a lifetime of positive and fun learning. In our class we will learn through play and build social skills they will continue to use as they grow.
What I love about Our Redeemer: I enjoy getting to know all the families. We have a very warm and welcoming community at Our Redeemer that I am thrilled to be a part of.

Hobbies: Gardening, volunteering at my children's school, baking and cheering on my children as they play in many different sports

What I do: Greet each child with a smile! My role as a classroom aide is to assist the teachers with the intellectual and spiritual education and well-being of every child. Children are natural players, so making sure they are fully engaged in purposeful playing activities is key. I also help facilitate the continuity of the day, class movement and physical needs for the children and staff as we grown and learn to live, love and lead like Jesus!
What I Love About Our Redeemer: I connected with Our Redeemer through the families of some former students. The creativity and warmth I found in the staff and classrooms, really creates a safe and fun environment where the children can grow in relationships with friends, staff, and God. Fun and creative teaching methods are important keys to building engagement in the classroom and I saw this all around me at Our Redeemer.

Carrie Markey, Kindergarten Teacher Aide
What I do: I am new to the staff at Our Redeemer as a Kindergarten Aide. I have been teaching and assisting with young children for over 20 years. I believe that teaching provides an opportunity for contnual growth for the teacher as well as the child. It is always my hope that I can have a hand in helping to develop their full potential by believing in them as capable individuals and assist them in discovering how they can express and nurture their own opinions and ideas. By instilling the love of Jesus and the exploration of His teachings, it is such a joy to witness as they grow spiritually, emotionally, academically, physically, and socially.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: The staff! Our Redeemer feels like family. From the moment I had substituted, I was warmly welcomed with open arms. There obvious abundance of patience, care, and love of children and Jesus fills my heart with such joy and inspiration!

Hobbies: Spending time with my husband, family and friends. I enjoy hiking, reading, interior decorating and I love experiencing different restaurants and wine tasting!

What I do: As a former preschool teacher at Beaverton Christian and also in Southern CA.; I’m so excited to be working with the Pre K class as they experience their world.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: God opened the door to Redeemer and I feel so blessed. The teachers have such a heart for the Lord and each child.
Favorite Bible Verse: Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulations, devoted to prayer. Romans 12:12. God continues to show his love and I’m forever learning how much more I need to grow in Him.
Hobbies: Exploring new places in Oregon. Going on walks and spoiling my granddaughters. I’m known as a Junk gypsy and organizer. So always looking for new projects.
Fun Fact: I haven’t eaten red meat in 24 years! I’ve worked along side with my husband in youth ministry and adults since we were married. Nurse back in Oklahoma.
Nancy Muldoon, 3's Teacher Aide
What I do: I taught Kindergarten for 22 years and look forward to being with children again! I will assist the teacher in whatever ways she needs as well as help the children adjust to starting school. I can't think of a better way to spend my Tuesday and Thursday mornings!
What I Love About Our Redeemer: I'm new to Our Redeemer and look forward to new friendships and families, I know it'll be a fun year!
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 56:3 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." This always works for me!
Hobbies: I'm a walker, everyday rain or shine! I love reading, organizing, shopping and watching TV.

Meghann Finnigan, 3's Teacher Aide
What I do: I get to be a teacher's aide in the 3's class room. I assist the teacher with anything she needs. I get to read, play, sing, and enjoy whatever fun the day has planned with a wonderful group of 3 year olds.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: Our Redeemer is filled with so much joy! The staff is so warm and welcoming. The children are so full of excitement and smiles, but I think the staff is just as excited for the day as the kids are!!
Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:4-5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Hobbies: I love spending time outdoors with my family. My kids play sports that are fun to watch. We also like to go camping, kayaking, hiking, and exploring. By myself I like to read a lot. Usually I have one paper book and an audiobook that I am in the middle of. I enjoy cooking and baking, and eating! I like painting and art, and although I am not good at it I love to sing and dance!
Fun Fact: I grew up in Southerna California where it is very warm. I have lived in Oregon for 15 years. My favorite part, besides how beautiful it is here, is getting to wear coats and jackets. I love finding new coats to add to my collection!!
Tammy Biles, Pre-K and Multi Age Teacher Aide
What I do: I love to give high fives, hugs, and smiles. I love to be a helper, whether I am tying a shoe or helping teachers with tasks, it brings me joy to step in where there is a need. As an aide, I am honored to come alongside parent and teachers to serve our little ones as they grow spiritually, mentally, and physically during this incredible stage of development.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: A few days before school started, God faithfully opened the door for our youngest son to attend Our Redeemer in the 4's classroom. I was hoping and praying that our son would be a part of a school that would grow his love for Jesus and others in an environment that would also foster his incredibly curious spirit. From day 1, I have been so thankful for the community at Our Redeemer and their focus on family, friendship, and the love of Jesus in all that they do.
Favorite Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Hobbies: My favorite thing to do is curl up with a great book and a cup of coffee. I also enjoy being active and love to work out, ride bikes with my kids, or go on any outdoor adventure.
Fun Fact: I like almost every food and consider myself to be an adventurous eater. However, I have a few rules that I live by: I believe that a proper dessert can't have fruit in it. Fruit is healthy, therefore any "dessert" with fruit isn't a treat--dessert should always have chocolate, vanilla, or caramel in it, and perhaps some whipped cream or candy. I also believe that coffee should be considered its own food group-- I look forward to my cup of coffee every morning, and several other cups throughout the day!
Erin Cowan, Pre-K and Multi Age Teacher Aide
What I do: As an aide I get to support the Pre-K and Multi Age teachers in the classroom. I also get to play, interact, encourage and help guide the sweet kiddos.
What I Love About Our Redeemer: I love the sense of family and community felt at Our Redeemer along with how loving and welcoming it is.

Hobbies: I like hiking, working out, home decorating and adventuring with my own kiddos.
Fun Fact: I grew up in a house full of girls with my 2 sisters and now I have a house full of boys with my 4 sons!
Laurie O'Brien, Ministry Coordinator
What I do: In practice, my job is one-third facilitator, one-third instigator, and one-third 'catch'. Susan at the church; support the staff, preschool and leadership; maintain member records; and prepare bulletins and newsletters.
What I love about Our Redeemer: The people. They are genuinely friendly, caring and fun to know. It is a blessing to worship together and work along-side people who live their faith and so generously support the ministries of this church.
Favorite Bible Verse(s): Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. -- I'm not a natural optimist, so a little reminder is always helpful.
Hobbies: Hatching plans, starting projects and procrastinating. 'Hobby' is a strong word; I love home design, photography and sewing.
Fun Fact: I can't think of anything that relates to me, but here's an interesting thought from the internet - The word 'listen' contains the same letters as 'silent'.
Susan Stubblefield, Ministry Assistant
What I do: Provide part-time back-up support to our Ministry Coordinator and all of the staff at Our Redeemer.
What I love about Our Redeemer: The feeling of being amongst "family", worshipping our Father in heaven and caring for one another.
Favorite Bible Verse(s): John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." and Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God."
Hobbies: Sailing and sailboat racing, interior decorating, shell collecting, exercising myself while exercising my two Labrador puppies, and time spent in Bible studies.
Fun Fact: I have been fortunate to have experienced many adventures in my life. For instance, I have downhill skied many wonderful mountains in the West and have made two trans-Pacific crossings in a small sailboat.
