Meet our staff ...

Pastor Patrick Rooney has been serving Our Redeemer since October 2019, after 8 years as a pastor in Bend, Oregon.  As a pastor, God has called Patrick to connect people to the grace and truth of Jesus, so that their perspective and impact on life is reshaped for eternity.  He loves encouraging people to think deeply, as well as fielding their questions and concerns - whether he can answer them or point them to the right resources.
What Pastor Patrick loves most about Our Redeemer is its warm, welcoming, and faithful community. He is looking forward to empowering, releasing, and leading this Family of God, Sharing Christ's Love into a vibrant future in Tigard, Beaverton and beyond.
Pastor Patrick and his wife, Kari, both grew up in suburban Los Angeles, and met at Concordia University in Irvine, CA.  They were married in 2008, and Patrick completed pastoral training in 2011 with a M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  While in Bend, Kari gave birth to three awesome children: John, Samuel, and Sarah.  Pastor Patrick is a lifelong Dodger and Star Trek fan. Enjoys reading, history, watching shows and movies with great storylines, board games, exploring outside, and most sports that involve hitting or kicking an object (i.e. ball), often with another object (i.e. bat, club, racquet).

Renae Johnson is new to the School Director position, effective with the 2020-2021 school year; however, Renae has served in our school as a Teacher, Teacher Aide, and Administrative Assistant for the past eight years. Renae has a degree in business management and recently obtained her Early Childhood Education certificate from Portland State University.

Amy Gehrke leads music for our contemporary services. Typically, this means planning our contemporary music and leading a group of musicians including guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals. Currently, she is a solo act - accompanying her guitar with vocals.
Sandee Waide is under the colorful hat in the back of our Sanctuary on traditional weeks. Sandee plans hymns to complement traditional services and leads music for these services with organ or piano. Sandee also serves as accompaniment for our choir, and looks forward to the time when they can resume post-pandemic.

As Ministry Coordinator, Laurie OBrien is the keeper of the building keys, communications ambassador and reluctant tech consultant. Overall, if there is a missing piece of information or explanation, she can usually figure out where to start the search.
As Ministry Assistant, Susan Stubblefield specializes in people - with a warm greeting for everyone who enters our doors, endless commitment to keeping our members connected, and attention to all the details of our church records. Her artistic eye lends support to nearly all that we do.
